Leech Lake (11020300) is located at Walker, Minnesota in Cass County. It is the third largest Minnesota lake with 112,000 acres of surface area and a maximum depth of 150 feet. Leech Lake has 316 miles of irregular shoreline with many large and small bays and inlets.
The US Forest Service maintains a concrete public access location at Stony Point. The Corps of Engineers has one at Federal Dam. The DNR has concrete public access locations at Erickson Landing, Point View, Whipholt, an asphalt public access at Shingobee Bay, and an earthen public access at Brevik. The City of Walker maintains a very nice concrete public access at Walker City Park.
Leech Lake fishing includes black bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, bowfin (dogfish), brown bullhead, lake whitefish, largemouth bass, northern pike, pumpkinseed, rock bass, tullibee (cisco), walleye, white sucker, yellow bullhead, and yellow perch.

Leech Lake has pristine, beautiful blue water and numerous coves and bays. The lake is the third largest lake in Minnesota,, and brings in fishermen, families, and tourists from all over. The forest has an extensive network of over 100 miles of trails, where berry picking, hunting, hiking, nature tracking, and wildlife viewing, bicycling, geocaching, and cross country skiing can be enjoyed.

In August, the citizens of Walker and visitors of Leech Lake look forward to the Walker Bay Days. This event is free to the public and hosted by the Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and held in Walker City Park. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the community's commitment to the preservation of the Leech Lake area, resources, and cultural history. There are lots of fun activities for all ages, like a 5k Run, Raffle drawing, inflatables, games, a Volleyball Tournament, Bingo, Pow-Wow Exhibition, and Sailboat rides. Food and beverages are also available all day.
